Job Title: HR Site Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and people-focused
HR Site Manager to lead the human resources function at a busy onsite operation in Baltimore, MD. This
direct-hire opportunity plays a critical role in overseeing the full spectrum of HR responsibilities, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, performance management, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, skilled in driving employee engagement and building strong cross-functional relationships.
Compensation:
- $65,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience)
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Occasional overtime or weekend hours may be required for special events or initiatives
Key Responsibilities of the HR Site Manager:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations onsite and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and employment laws
- Lead and support a team of three HR professionals, including an HR Admin, HR Recruiter, and HR Generalist
- Partner closely with the safety team and site leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals
- Execute recruiting strategies, conduct interviews, extend job offers, and coordinate onboarding processes
- Oversee new hire orientation and training, including safety and compliance topics
- Manage employee documentation, I-9 verification, E-Verify submissions, and personnel files
- Administer and communicate employee benefits; process enrollment and related documentation
- Coordinate and support performance evaluations and ensure timely completion of appraisal cycles
- Conduct investigations, employee counseling, and disciplinary actions as necessary
- Handle unemployment claims and represent the company at hearings as needed
- Prepare and maintain HR reports and documentation using HRIS systems (preferably UKG Pro and Kronos)
- Travel approximately once per month to the company’s headquarters for coordination meetings
Qualifications and Skills for the HR Site Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered; Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or Recruiter role
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or fast-paced environment is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and safety protocols
- Familiarity with HRIS systems; UKG Pro and Kronos experience is a plus
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
