Job Title: Laboratory Technician
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our client and play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations within a manufacturing environment. This onsite, contract position based in Wayne, PA, focuses on performing chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in alignment with quality standards and lab best practices.
 

Compensation:
• $22.00/hour
 

Work Schedule:
• 12-hour shift on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule
• 84 hours biweekly
 

Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:
• Conduct sample preparation and analysis of materials across various production stages.
• Utilize laboratory equipment and techniques, including ICP-OES, LECO solids analysis, particle size distribution, chemisorption (PGM dispersion), thermal analysis (TGA), porosity and surface area analysis, and X-ray fluorescence.
• Ensure accurate entry of test data into Laboratory Information Management and Inventory Tracking systems.
• Prepare and verify calibration standards for analytical instrumentation.
• Write and revise standard operating procedures to support laboratory functions.
• Uphold strict compliance with environmental, health, and safety protocols, including PPE use and incident reporting.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and other LEAN practices.
• Identify and evaluate data integrity, distinguishing between acceptable and erroneous results.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and calibration.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to maintain workflow and meet production goals.
• Support additional laboratory or site tasks as needed.
 

Qualifications and Skills for the Laboratory Technician:
• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred; high school diploma with at least two years of chemical industry lab experience will also be considered.
• Familiarity with wet chemistry techniques and quantitative analysis.
• Working knowledge of common analytical instrumentation in a quality control lab.
• Awareness of ISO/IEC 17025 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and lab data systems.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to multitask while following standard operating procedures accurately.
