Job Title: Payroll & Workforce Management Systems Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Payroll & Workforce Management Systems Manager to join our client’s team and lead the strategy, support, and optimization of payroll and time & attendance technologies across a large, multi-location workforce. This hybrid direct-hire opportunity, based near King of Prussia, PA, offers a high-visibility role interfacing with executives, HR, IT, and operations across the U.S. and Canada.
Compensation:
• $140,000 – $145,000/year base salary
• Bonus opportunities available
Work Schedule:
• Monday to Friday, regular business hours
• Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll & Workforce Management Systems Manager:
• Lead overall functionality, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of time & attendance (T&A) systems, including pay/work rules, schedules, accruals, hardware, and interfaces.
• Manage the complete functional flow of payroll reporting from labor distribution to accounting interface preparation.
• Ensure system compliance with payroll-related federal, state, provincial, and union requirements across U.S. and Canadian operations.
• Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll interface files, general ledger interfaces, and billing to internal business units.
• Act as the primary liaison between HR, IT, Labor Relations, Finance, Legal, and external vendors.
• Analyze and recommend enhancements, upgrades, and vendor services to improve system efficiency and reduce costs.
• Serve as a key contributor to the Time & Attendance Governance Committee and provide strategic updates and presentations.
• Manage a team of 7 salaried professionals, setting goals, providing mentorship, and conducting performance reviews.
• Maintain oversight of ticketing, metrics, and KPIs related to UKG T&A systems.
• Support transformation initiatives including system integrations and upgrades (e.g., Workday implementation).
Qualifications and Skills for the Payroll & Workforce Management Systems Manager:
• Must have hands-on experience with UKG Pro Workforce Management (highly preferred) or Kronos Workforce Central
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of experience in automated timekeeping systems
• 10+ years of payroll processing experience in a large, multi-location organization
• 5+ years of experience managing direct reports, including remote staff
• In-depth experience in the manufacturing industry (required)
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, general ledger processes, and unionized environments
• Solid MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• Proven ability to present to executive leadership and manage cross-functional communication
• Project management capabilities and process improvement mindset
• CPP certification (preferred)
• Familiarity with Workday Payroll and Microsoft Copilot (preferred)
