Job Title: Senior FP&A Lead
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior FP&A Lead to join our client and play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and performance. This hybrid, permanent/direct-hire position, based in North Houston, TX, focuses on leading financial planning and analysis activities, supporting executive decision-making, and optimizing business performance through actionable insights. The role also includes direct team leadership and opportunities to contribute to process improvements and special projects.
Compensation:
$125,000 annually
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, standard business hours
Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote (training period may require 100% onsite)
Key Responsibilities of the Senior FP&A Lead:
Take ownership of the financial planning cycle, guiding strategy from planning through execution and ensuring results align with organizational goals.
Translate complex financial data into meaningful stories and actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
Build and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and presentations that empower executives to make confident, data-driven decisions.
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership by identifying cost-saving opportunities, efficiency improvements, and areas to strengthen profitability.
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of FP&A professionals while contributing to the expansion and development of the function.
Champion process improvements and systems initiatives that modernize financial practices and create scalable solutions.
Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that finance partners effectively with operations, commercial, and leadership teams.
Qualifications and Skills for the Senior FP&A Lead:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA) a plus.
6–8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling; investment banking or private equity background a plus.
Proven team leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong Excel expertise (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced functions); proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, QuickBooks, and other ERP/BI tools preferred.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to present insights to senior leadership.
Demonstrated track record of career longevity and consistent progression.
Adaptable, resourceful, and able to manage complex projects with attention to detail.
