Job Title: Grant Writer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our client in supporting their mission-driven operations. This mostly remote, permanent/direct-hire position based in Voorhees, NJ (with occasional in-office meetings and events across New Jersey) focuses on researching, developing, and securing funding opportunities from federal, state, county, foundation, and corporate sources.
Compensation:
• $75,000 – $80,000 annually
Work Schedule:
• Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible to meet deadlines and maintain an average of 7 hours/day)
Key Responsibilities of the Grant Writer:
• Research, identify, and evaluate new public and private grant opportunities.
• Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of intent, and online applications.
• Assist with developing budgets, logic models, and supporting documentation for grant submissions.
• Partner with program leaders and finance staff to gather necessary data and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
• Review, edit, and provide feedback on draft proposals prepared by other staff.
• Track and manage grant-related deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with funders, attending bidder and technical assistance meetings when required.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to conceptualize and co-develop project proposals.
• Maintain accurate records of funding opportunities, applications, and agency information in grant management systems.
• Support other fundraising and development initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and Skills for the Grant Writer:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field required; Master’s degree preferred (commensurate experience may substitute for degree).
• Minimum 3 years of professional grant writing experience (5 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of state and federal grant processes, including portals such as GrantSolutions, Grants.gov, and Sage; Salesforce experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Experience developing grant budgets and familiarity with government or nonprofit funding structures.
• Professional ethics and the ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• Must be able to complete background checks and medical testing as required by funders.
