Job Title: Paralegal (Worker’s Comp)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal (Worker’s Comp) to join our client and provide critical support in managing a high-volume caseload. This hybrid, direct-hire opportunity based in Pittsburgh, PA, offers flexibility to work 1–2 days per week remotely following training. The position focuses on assisting attorneys with all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, from inception to resolution.
Compensation:
• Up to $75,000 annually, based on experience
Work Schedule:
• Monday through Friday, normal business hours
• Hybrid schedule with flexibility to work remotely 1–2 days per week after training
Key Responsibilities of the Paralegal (Worker’s Comp):
• Support attorneys in managing workers’ compensation cases from start to finish
• Draft and file legal documents including petitions, motions, discovery requests, and medical summaries
• Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, medical evaluations, and related meetings
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
• Review and summarize medical records and other documentation for case preparation
• Conduct legal research as needed and provide litigation support
• Track and meet daily billable hour requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team
Qualifications and Skills for the Paralegal (Worker’s Comp):
• 3+ years of workers’ compensation experience required
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
• Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation procedures and related terminology; experience with WCAIS a plus
• Prior time entry and billing experience with ability to meet daily billable requirements
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, court staff, and expert witnesses
• Familiarity with medical record review, indexing, and discovery production processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; Lexis experience a plus
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
