Job Title: Facilities Director
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Facilities Director to join our client to lead and develop comprehensive facilities operations for a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This direct-hire, onsite position based in the Tempe, AZ area requires a dynamic leader to oversee the relocation of operations, implement preventative maintenance programs, and ensure seamless functionality of critical systems. The role plays a vital part in maintaining compliance, optimizing reliability, and driving strategic improvements across building infrastructure and equipment. With responsibility for both short-term responsiveness and long-term planning, this individual will directly influence safety, efficiency, and business continuity.
Compensation:
$150,000 – $160,000 annually
Work Schedule:
Onsite, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with flexibility as needed)
Key Responsibilities of the Facilities Director:
• Direct the transition of operations during a site relocation and oversee the setup of a fully operational facilities program.
• Design and manage systems for utilities, HVAC, cleanrooms, environmental controls, and specialized lab equipment to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs, asset management systems, and emergency response protocols.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident response to mitigate risks and resolve urgent facilities issues.
• Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, including negotiations, performance evaluations, and capital project planning.
• Develop policies, SOPs, and compliance documentation to meet local, state, federal, and industry-specific requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership to facilities staff, setting high standards for safety, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
Qualifications and Skills for the Facilities Director:
• 8–10+ years of facilities management experience in a regulated manufacturing, healthcare, or pharmaceutical setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Proven ability to create facilities systems and programs from the ground up.
• Experience with CMMS platforms, vendor management, and cost control strategies.
• Background in cleanroom design, commissioning, or operations within cGMP environments.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to respond to urgent issues effectively.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to guide teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Willingness to respond to off-hours needs and physically navigate all facility areas.
