Job Title: Sr. Litigation Legal Assistant
 

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Sr. Litigation Legal Assistant to join our client to support a busy legal team focused on workers’ compensation and tax appeal matters in the Farmingdale, NJ area. This direct-hire position offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex case files, coordinate with attorneys and clients, and ensure that all legal documents and filings are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and confident managing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
 

Compensation:
$63,000 annually
 

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (35-hour work week with lunch breaks)
 

Key Responsibilities of the Sr. Litigation Legal Assistant:
• Prepare, draft, and proofread legal correspondence, forms, and filings for state and federal cases.
• Coordinate communications with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and administrative agencies to maintain case progress and compliance.
• Oversee case management activities, including scheduling, docket tracking, and maintaining attorney calendars and deadlines.
• Perform legal research using Westlaw and assist in compiling and organizing case materials for hearings or filings.
• Manage electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of legal documents.
• Support attorneys with billing, time entry, and general administrative needs as required.
 

Qualifications and Skills for the Sr. Litigation Legal Assistant:
• At least 2–3 years of experience in litigation support, specifically within workers’ compensation and/or tax appeal cases.
• Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and requirements for both state and federal jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal software such as Aderant (billing) and iManage (document management).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Notary Public certification preferred (or willingness to obtain—firm sponsorship available).
