Job Title: Collections Representative

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Collections Representative to join our client to support the recovery of outstanding payments while delivering exceptional customer service. This role focuses on contacting clients to discuss past-due accounts, negotiating repayment terms, and maintaining detailed records of communication and account status. The ideal candidate will combine empathy and professionalism with strong communication and problem-solving skills to ensure successful payment resolutions. This is a remote, contract-to-hire opportunity offering steady hours and the chance to grow within a supportive, performance-driven environment.

Compensation:
$17.00 – $17.50 per hour

Work Schedule:

  • Open availability Monday–Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

  • Assigned 2 daytime shifts (8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., 30-minute lunch) and 2 evening shifts (1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., 30-minute lunch)

  • Fridays: 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

  • Two Saturdays per month (employee’s choice), 8:00 a.m.–11:45 a.m.

Key Responsibilities of the Collections Representative:

  • Engage with clients and co-signers to understand payment challenges, explain account terms, and secure arrangements for repayment.

  • Document all interactions and maintain accurate records in the collection system, updating action and result codes to reflect each step of the process.

  • Send communications and notices to individuals regarding overdue accounts, payment obligations, and co-signer responsibilities.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account discrepancies, escalate issues when needed, and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Uphold professionalism and integrity in every interaction while striving to meet performance goals and deliver a positive experience to customers.

Qualifications and Skills for the Collections Representative:

  • Previous experience in collections, customer service, or account management preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations confidently and respectfully.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
