Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our client to support regulatory compliance initiatives and ensure accurate documentation across multiple product lines. This individual will play a key role in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulations, preparing and reviewing compliance documentation, and assisting with regulatory submissions and process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled at researching and interpreting complex regulatory requirements to help the organization stay compliant and efficient.
Compensation:
$41–$46 per hour
Work Schedule:
Normal business hours; hybrid schedule (3 days onsite in Norwalk, CT, and 2 days remote)
Key Responsibilities of the Regulatory Affairs Specialist:
Conduct research on federal, state, and international regulations, summarizing key findings and communicating updates to leadership.
Review and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product labels, and regulatory documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and filings, acting as a backup for the Regulatory Affairs Manager as needed.
Monitor and track supplier compliance by reviewing import alerts, FDA notifications, and other agency publications.
Assist with the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions to align with current regulations.
Participate in external regulatory committees, summarize industry updates, and recommend best practices for internal processes.
Maintain organized regulatory files and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the department.
Qualifications and Skills for the Regulatory Affairs Specialist:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of regulatory experience within the pharmaceutical, food, or chemical industry.
Strong understanding of regulatory standards and safety guidelines (OSHA, DOT, IATA, TSCA, FSMA, REACH, and related frameworks).
Proficiency in legal and regulatory research, with the ability to interpret and summarize complex provisions across U.S. and Canadian laws.
Familiarity with agency submission systems (e.g., FURLS, CDX, ODGI, CDER Direct) and industry monographs such as USP, FCC, and NF.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.
High level of integrity, adaptability, and curiosity in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
