Job Title: Raw Materials Chemist

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Raw Materials Chemist to join our client to support laboratory testing and quality control processes for pharmaceutical products. This role ensures raw materials, packaging components, and in-process samples meet regulatory and internal standards before manufacturing and distribution. Based onsite in Indianapolis, IN, this is a temporary-to-hire position working in a laboratory environment with a focus on accuracy, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining product integrity and supporting continuous operational excellence.

Compensation:
Up to $26/hour, based on experience

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a break

Key Responsibilities of the Raw Materials Chemist:

• Conduct testing on raw materials, packaging, and in-process or stability samples using established procedures and laboratory methods.
• Operate laboratory equipment and perform analytical techniques such as pH testing, titrations, Loss on Drying, Residue on Ignition, and Karl Fischer analysis.
• Accurately record test results, maintain organized laboratory documentation, and ensure data is compliant with regulatory standards.
• Review peer data, reports, and laboratory notebooks to support accuracy and cGMP compliance.
• Assist with additional laboratory tasks and contribute to special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills for the Raw Materials Chemist:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in a regulated laboratory setting will be considered.
• Experience working in a cGMP-compliant pharmaceutical or laboratory environment with knowledge of USP/NF and FDA guidelines.
• Familiarity with analytical instruments and laboratory techniques, along with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and LIMS software.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team-focused environment.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods, using PPE, and handling hazardous chemicals in a lab setting.
