Job Title: Loan Payment Coordinator

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Loan Payment Coordinator to join our client to support the accurate processing and reconciliation of mortgage payoff transactions. This individual will play a vital role in managing incoming payments, ensuring loans are paid off accurately, and maintaining compliance with investor and internal standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy and collaboration are key to maintaining financial integrity. This position is onsite in Trenton, NJ and offered as a contract opportunity.

Compensation:
$23 – $26 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, standard business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Loan Payment Coordinator:

  • Process and reconcile mortgage payoff transactions, ensuring all payments are applied accurately and in compliance with investor and internal servicing standards.

  • Review, balance, and deposit all payoff-related checks and wire payments, maintaining alignment with general ledger and accounting requirements.

  • Partner with attorneys, title companies, and borrowers to resolve payoff discrepancies, short funds, or account exceptions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Monitor and manage daily reports for paid-in-full loans, escrow disbursements, and final escrow refunds to ensure funds are released appropriately.

  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Investor Reporting, Default, and Payment Processing to maintain seamless coordination across teams.

  • Support audit and compliance standards by ensuring all documentation, reconciliations, and records are accurate and complete.

  • Contribute to department projects and assist in training team members on system updates and reporting procedures.

Qualifications and Skills for the Loan Payment Coordinator:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in finance or accounting are a plus.

  • 2–3 years of recent experience in cash management or payment processing within mortgage servicing.

  • Strong data entry and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent math aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to manage high-volume transactions with precision.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, resolve discrepancies, and work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
