Job Title: Agricultural Operations Manager
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Agricultural Operations Manager to join our client to lead and enhance daily operations at a large-scale agricultural and biological production facility. This role oversees the full spectrum of farm activities—from crop and animal operations to personnel leadership and facility management—to ensure an efficient, compliant, and high-performing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong operational oversight, regulatory awareness, and the ability to guide multiple teams across a dynamic, acreage-spanning campus. This position plays a key role in strengthening productivity, driving continuous improvement, and supporting collaboration between the farm and laboratory teams.
Compensation:
$80,000 annually
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday, normal business hours
Operational Leadership & Team Development
Guide, support, and mentor supervisory staff overseeing multiple functional departments while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration across a 70–80 person workforce.
Farm, Production & Workflow Oversight
Manage day-to-day operations of an 800-acre agricultural facility, ensuring effective crop management, high-quality animal care, optimized workflows, resource efficiency, and strong alignment with organizational goals.
Regulatory, Quality & Compliance Management
Uphold regulatory standards and participate in training related to Quality Management Systems; support readiness for audits, maintain compliance with USDA/IACUC/AAALAC expectations, and contribute to continuous quality improvements.
Financial, Strategic & Business Insight
Review operational and financial data to identify efficiencies, support budgeting and planning efforts, and contribute to strategic decisions that enhance production and long-term business performance.
Facility, Equipment & Infrastructure Management
Oversee facility upkeep, construction or maintenance projects, and safe equipment operation while ensuring a well-maintained, compliant environment for staff, animals, and production activities.
Required:
– Experience in large-scale farm operations, including crop and animal care, and comfort operating heavy farm equipment.
– Background managing teams and leading staff in a multi-functional environment.
– Familiarity with regulated agricultural settings and USDA or related compliance standards.
– Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
– Ability to provide training, direction, and clear guidance to diverse teams.
– Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
– Business awareness related to budgeting, planning, or operational decision-making.
– High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3–5 years of relevant animal husbandry or agricultural experience.
Preferred:
– Experience in AAALAC/IACUC/cGMP-aligned or research-affiliated farm environments.
– Exposure to audits, QMS-related workflows, or compliance initiatives.
– Advanced degree welcomed but not required.
