Customer Service Representative

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our client to support borrower engagement through high-quality inbound and outbound call interactions. This fully remote, long-term contract role begins in a Tier 1 capacity, where representatives serve as the first point of contact for existing customers. The focus is on understanding needs, resolving concerns when possible, and routing inquiries to the appropriate teams when needed. As skills develop, representatives may advance to Tier 2 support or transition into outbound outreach initiatives focused on retention and education.

Compensation:
$18.00 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday between 8:00am–11:00pm EST, with shifts most commonly scheduled 10:00am–7:00pm or 11:00am–8:00pm EST. One rotating Saturday per schedule cycle from 9:00am–1:00pm EST.

Key Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for inbound calls from existing borrowers, providing timely and professional support

  • Assess customer needs, resolve routine inquiries, and appropriately escalate or transfer more complex issues

  • Deliver a positive customer experience with a strong focus on engagement and retention

  • Participate in outbound calling campaigns as assigned, following structured scripts and outreach goals

  • Educate customers on available offerings and services while building rapport and trust

  • Demonstrate flexibility to grow into advanced call types or expanded responsibilities as proficiency increases

Qualifications and Skills for the Customer Service Representative:

  • Prior experience in a call center environment supporting inbound and/or outbound customer interactions

  • Background in industries such as banking, mortgage servicing, student loans, insurance, or telecommunications preferred

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and professionally

  • Customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on retention and problem resolution

  • Ability to follow scripts, workflows, and call guidelines while maintaining a natural conversation style

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote call center setting with schedule flexibility
