Job Title: Medical Billing Assistant

Job Overview:

Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Medical Billing Assistant to join our client to support accurate referral processing, insurance verification, and billing activities within a busy healthcare setting. This role ensures clean claim submission, timely payment posting, and consistent communication with clinical staff to secure needed documentation. The Medical Billing Assistant will contribute to smooth revenue cycle operations by managing multi-payer workflows and maintaining up-to-date patient account records. This is a 100% onsite, temp-to-hire role offering hands-on experience across billing and reimbursement functions.

$20/hr

Work Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM | 100% Onsite

Key Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Assistant:

Manage daily referral intake and review admissions to confirm patient accuracy, eligibility, and payer details.
Support billing requirements across Medicare, Medicaid, managed Medicaid, and commercial plans, including authorizations, notices, corrections, and documentation collection.
Prepare and transmit electronic claims, using Esolutions for adjustments or claim corrections as needed.
Maintain accounts receivable by posting payments, preparing batches, resolving reimbursement issues, and handling bank deposits when required.
Collaborate with clinical staff to obtain essential information and ensure timely, complete billing.

Qualifications and Skills for the Medical Billing Assistant:

Experience in medical billing, patient accounting, or healthcare reimbursement operations.
Understanding of insurance processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer workflows.
Familiarity with billing platforms or EMRs; experience with Esolutions or Cerner is beneficial.
Strong accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
