Job Title: AP Accounting Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an AP Accounting Specialist to join our client to support accurate, compliant, and efficient accounts payable operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring vendors are paid correctly and on time while maintaining strong internal controls and clean financial records. The position partners closely with internal teams to support audits, expense reporting, and year end compliance activities. This is a permanent, onsite opportunity based in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Compensation:
$65,000 to $75,000 per year
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the AP Accounting Specialist:
• Oversee end to end accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding accuracy, approvals, and timely payment release
• Manage vendor relationships through statement reconciliations, ACH setup, vendor maintenance, and credit application processing
• Administer expense reporting and corporate card programs, including training employees and ensuring policy compliance
• Lead compliance focused activities such as 1099 preparation, audit support, and semi annual escheatment reporting
• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and special accounting projects as business needs evolve
Qualifications and Skills for the AP Accounting Specialist:
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, with equivalent experience also considered
• At least three years of hands on accounts payable experience in a mid to large organization, ideally within construction or a similar industry
• Working knowledge of GAAP, AP best practices, 1099 requirements, and escheatment regulations
• Experience with ERP and AP automation systems such as Acumatica, Leap, Certify, or comparable platforms, along with strong Excel skills
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and strong attention to detail
