Job Title: Interim Financial Controller

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to join our client to help drive financial accuracy, operational stability, and leadership continuity during a transitional period. This contract-to-hire role is based in Willingboro, NJ and requires a hands-on leader who can oversee accounting operations while supporting a dynamic, multi-entity business environment. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical accounting expertise and practical operational insight to guide financial processes and team performance. This position offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by strengthening controls, improving efficiencies, and supporting business decision-making.

Compensation:
Starting at $40/hour, depending on experience

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller:

• Lead the full month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysis across the business unit
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting activities, monitoring financial performance and identifying trends to support strategic planning
• Supervise and mentor a cross-functional accounting and administrative team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional development
• Ensure compliance with internal policies by maintaining strong financial controls and supporting accurate, timely operational and transactional workflows
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership to maintain continuity during transition and provide financial insight to support business decisions
• Drive process improvements and step into day-to-day accounting tasks as needed to ensure deadlines and deliverables are consistently met

Qualifications and Skills for the Interim Financial Controller:

• Proven experience managing month-end close for a division, business unit, or multi-entity operation
• Strong background in operational accounting with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on execution
• Prior experience leading or supervising team members, with a focus on coaching and performance management
• Adaptable and resourceful problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, complex business environments
• Ability to quickly learn existing systems and processes while identifying opportunities for improvement
• Experience in industries such as transportation, logistics, or other operationally driven environments is highly valued
