Job Title: Senior Labor Relations Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Labor Relations Specialist to join our client to partner with business leaders on labor relations strategy, employee relations, and broader human resources initiatives. This role blends hands on union labor expertise with strategic HR business partnership to support workforce stability, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal professional will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership while navigating complex employee issues and supporting long term workforce planning. This is a direct hire, hybrid opportunity based in Philadelphia, PA.
Compensation:
$110,000 to $130,000 per year plus bonus
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours. Hybrid schedule with onsite work Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote work Tuesday and Friday after training.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Labor Relations Specialist:
• Lead labor and employee relations strategy for assigned business groups, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and consistent application of policies
• Serve as the primary advisor for unionized populations, overseeing collective bargaining activities, contract administration, grievances, arbitrations, and workforce transitions
• Guide leaders through complex employee relations matters including investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
• Deliver strategic HR partnership across talent management, leadership development, workforce planning, compensation support, and organizational change initiatives
• Analyze workforce data and engagement trends to identify risks, recommend improvements, and support informed leadership decisions
Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Labor Relations Specialist:
• Seven or more years of progressive human resources experience, including at least five years supporting a unionized workforce
• Strong working knowledge of labor and employment law with demonstrated experience managing collective bargaining and grievance processes
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders, manage sensitive situations, and resolve complex employee and labor issues with sound judgment
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Workday, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
