Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client to support the accurate and efficient delivery of employee compensation and payroll operations. This onsite contract role based in King of Prussia, PA plays a key part in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. The position partners with internal teams to manage payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen overall payroll processes. This opportunity runs through the end of November and offers hands on experience in a fast paced environment.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

• Oversee end to end payroll processing including wage calculations, overtime, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings to ensure timely and accurate employee payments
• Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring employee information, earnings, and deductions are properly documented and compliant with established policies
• Review and validate timesheets, follow up with employees and managers for missing or inaccurate data, and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submission
• Compile and input payroll data related to hours worked, garnishments, retirement contributions, and other adjustments into the payroll system
• Support payroll cycles on a biweekly and monthly basis, assisting with reporting, audits, and issue resolution while maintaining strict confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills for the Payroll Specialist:

• Three to seven years of hands on payroll processing experience with a strong understanding of payroll practices and regulations
• A degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience is also considered
• Experience working with payroll systems such as Workday or ADP, with Workday knowledge strongly valued
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to review data for accuracy and identify discrepancies quickly
• Effective communication skills combined with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a fast paced setting
