Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client to support accurate and compliant payroll operations across a large North American workforce. This role plays a key part in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining strong financial controls and regulatory adherence. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with HR, finance, and external partners to manage payroll activities, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes. This is a hybrid, temp to hire opportunity based in King of Prussia, PA, offering exposure to complex, multi state payroll environments.
Compensation:
$40 to $45 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

• Oversee full cycle payroll for approximately 1,300 employees, including weekly union and biweekly non union pay groups, ensuring timely and accurate processing
• Review and validate timekeeping data in Kronos, reconcile payroll results, and perform audits, retro calculations, and adjustments as needed
• Maintain employee payroll records, including updates to tax forms, direct deposit details, compensation changes, and benefit deductions
• Coordinate payroll system activities between Workday and third party vendors such as ADP Smart Compliance while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and union regulations
• Support reporting, tax reconciliation, audit requests, and special payroll scenarios such as severance, settlements, and other complex cases while identifying opportunities for process improvement

Qualifications and Skills for the Payroll Specialist:

• At least four years of experience in payroll, finance, or accounting with a strong emphasis on payroll processing
• Hands on experience with Workday is required, along with familiarity working with payroll compliance vendors such as ADP Smart Compliance
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, perform reconciliations, and generate reports
• Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion while handling large volumes of payroll data in a fast paced setting
• Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across HR, finance, and external partners
