Job Title: Product Liability Paralegal
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Product Liability Paralegal to join our client to support complex litigation matters and help drive successful case outcomes throughout the legal process. This direct hire opportunity is based in Tampa, FL and offers the chance to work closely with attorneys on high-profile defense litigation from initial case development through trial. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, litigation experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. $25 - $40/hour
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Product Liability Paralegal:
- Partner with attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle by supporting case strategy, preparing legal documents, and ensuring matters progress efficiently from intake through resolution.
- Oversee the organization, maintenance, and production of large volumes of case materials, including electronic records, discovery documents, and litigation files.
- Coordinate critical case activities by managing court deadlines, filing requirements, scheduling obligations, and litigation calendars.
- Prepare comprehensive materials for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials, including exhibits, witness documentation, and attorney reference materials.
- Analyze and summarize case-related information such as medical records, deposition testimony, expert findings, and discovery content to support legal decision-making.
- Serve as a liaison with clients, experts, courts, vendors, and outside parties while facilitating communication and ensuring timely follow-up on case-related matters.
- Conduct research, factual investigations, and document reviews while supporting e-discovery initiatives and electronic document management processes.
- Maintain accurate billing records and provide administrative litigation support while ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and internal standards.
Qualifications and Skills for the Product Liability Paralegal:
- 3-5 years of experience supporting defense-side product liability litigation, including hands-on involvement with trial preparation and courtroom support activities.
- Associate’s degree required; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Candidates with substantial relevant legal experience may receive additional consideration.
- Thorough understanding of federal and state court procedures, litigation deadlines, filing requirements, and case management best practices, including experience with PACER.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, complex calendars, and high-volume caseloads while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficiency with legal technology platforms, e-discovery tools, and document management systems such as Relativity, iManage, Xera, or similar applications, along with advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities paired with a client-focused approach, professional judgment, and the confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with legal teams.
- Resourceful problem-solver who remains composed under pressure, adapts to changing priorities, and takes initiative to identify solutions and keep matters moving forward.
