Job Title: Inventory Control Advisor

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Inventory Control Advisor to join our client to help drive inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and long-term process improvements within a retail environment. This temporary opportunity is based in Kennett Square, PA and offers an onsite work arrangement with flexibility for full-time or part-time hours. The selected professional will assess current inventory practices, establish sustainable controls, and provide recommendations that improve visibility and accountability across thousands of products. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in retail inventory management who enjoys solving operational challenges and implementing practical solutions.

Compensation:
Starting at $30/hour, based on experience

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (flexible full-time, part-time, or evening hours available within business operating needs)

Key Responsibilities of the Inventory Control Advisor:

  • Evaluate existing inventory management processes and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and reporting.
  • Design and recommend inventory control procedures that support ongoing maintenance of product records and stock levels.
  • Establish cycle count and reconciliation practices to address inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and product loss.
  • Leverage data available within the organization's point-of-sale and inventory systems to develop actionable insights and operational improvements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by recommending best practices for inventory governance and retail operations.
  • Partner with internal staff during inventory reviews and audits to verify data and support process adoption.

Qualifications and Skills for the Inventory Control Advisor:

  • Prior experience managing or consulting on inventory operations within a retail, grocery, or other high-volume product environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control methodologies, cycle counting programs, and stock reconciliation practices.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, identify root causes of discrepancies, and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Experience working with point-of-sale, inventory tracking, or retail management software platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and advisory skills with the ability to influence process improvements.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with operational teams and stakeholders.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Consulting, auditing, supply chain, or inventory management experience is highly valued.
