The individual in this role will evaluate commercial insurance risks, support portfolio performance, and contribute to business growth through sound underwriting decisions. Compensation:
Up to $100,000/year
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Underwriting Specialist:
- Analyze new and existing commercial insurance opportunities, assess risk exposure, and make underwriting decisions that align with profitability and growth objectives.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external business partners to strengthen relationships, improve submission quality, and support successful policy placement and retention.
- Oversee policy related activities including endorsements, audits, reports, claims documentation, and account changes while ensuring accurate record maintenance.
- Monitor market conditions, evaluate business performance trends, and contribute to planning activities that support regional expansion and operational goals.
- Guide team development through knowledge sharing, training support, quality review participation, and adherence to established service and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required along with the ability to obtain a Property & Casualty insurance license within the designated timeframe if not currently licensed.
- Three to seven years of commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience with delegated authority, including exposure to multiple insurance carriers preferred.
- Professional industry designation such as Associate in Underwriting or a comparable credential, with program administration or management experience considered a plus.
- Strong analytical abilities with experience evaluating complex or multi location risks, reviewing underwriting documentation, and maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business technology tools, combined with excellent communication, relationship building, leadership, and organizational skills.
