Senior Accountant 

Seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented individual to join our Client in Jacksonville, FL as the Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all accounting functions, including general ledger, grants administration, and oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable/cash receipts, and payroll. This temporary to possible hire role offers between $50-70k/year!

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:


• Maintaining General Ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Assisting with developing and maintaining internal controls and procedures.
• Assisting the CFO in preparing financial reporting in support of government grants to ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Assisting with the application and preparation of new grant submissions.
• Providing routine revenue and expense reporting. Developing queries and ad-hoc reporting based on business needs. Identifying, researching, and resolving any discrepancies.
• Reviewing monthly department P&L reports and reconciling any variances. 
• Reconciling and maintaining clients' trust accounts.
• Maintaining a fixed assets database and ensuring proper recording of new purchases, disposals, and depreciation.    
• Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close functions.
• Generating and/or reviewing and recording journal entries into General Ledger.
• Coordinating audit activity and assisting with audit planning, procedures, and preparation.
• Assisting with budget planning and implementation.
• Assisting with renewal of professional liability, general liability, and property insurance.
• Assisting Chief Financial Officer as assigned and serving as backup.
• Acting as backup for semi-monthly payroll processing and AP processing.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Requirements of the Senior Accountant include:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.  CPA, MBA, or CMA certification is a plus.

  • Five years of accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit industry or in public accounting.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work effectively with external and internal customers at all levels.

  • Successful experience in grants management.

  • Experience with budgeting and accounting software and database management.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

  • Willing to adhere to Client's COVID-19 requirements.
